Northern   Ireland     -     Journey   Home

This week photos of:

- Northern Ireland. (Sat - Mon)

On Saturday (19th July) we left Kenmare and drove up north via Limerick, Dublin and Belfast to Whitepark Bay in County Antrim, close to the villages Bushmills and Ballintoy.

On Sunday we made a walk along the beach from Whitepark Bay to Ballintoy Harbour vice versa, and had lunch in the Red Door Cottage-Tearoom near Ballintoy Harbour.

In the evening we visited the Giant´s Causeway.
The Giant´s Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption.

On Monday we drove to the Port of Larne for the ferry to Scotland, and spent the night in Stranraer.

On Tuesday we travelled from Stranraer to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the DFDS-Seaways´ night ferry to IJmuiden (Amsterdam).
We arrived back in the Netherlands at 9.30 am on Wednesday morning.
